Cobram Agricultural Society annual meeting approve 35 committee

The Cobram Agricultural Society held a largely attended annual meeting discussing increasing its committee to 35, tennis club grass courts on the arena, and football club rent relief. W. Ritchie elected president. F. McCormack retired after seven years and became Life Member. £668 raised for the Improvement Fund over four years.

Tun gamah Shire Council Meets Amid Local News

Cobram Courier reports on the Tun gamah Shire Council monthly meeting set for the 31st. It notes a Cobram Homany visit by members of the Homany tribe and businesspeople being "stung" at the Cobram. The Cobram Cycle Club held its annual meeting, electing A Comins as president and L Heltreasurer with officers and a points system to crown the season’s most conscientious rider. A kitchen shower wished Isobel Gilmour a happy marriage, and coroner H C Tingate led an inquiry into Joan Hannibal’s death at St Vincent’s Hospital, with evidence heard and a verdict pending Melbourne.

Yarroweyah Hospital Ball Shines At Annual Event

A Carnival spirit marked the Yarroweyah Hospital Ball held last Wednesday. Bright bazaar style decorations in ivory white and blue filled the hall with short streamers and decorative features. The dance floor was praised as near perfect with Gervasoni's orchestra providing music and Dilenne Taylor and Gokes featured.

Fundraising and Show Results Across Five Years

The President announced £868 raised for the Improvements Fund and noted ongoing show fundraising. Insurance on some buildings was discussed, with a motion to report on insurance at the next committee meeting. Receipts rose by £13 from the previous show, while ticket losses and entry fees fluctuated. Members praised the work of the ladies and committee. McCormack announced his withdrawal from the presidency and pledged continued support. The meeting appointed officers and committee members, with Wadeson and Ritchie among those named.
