Clifford Saltmarsh returned home to find his wife seriously wounded and two babies dead, John Albert Saltmarsh aged 22 months and Annabelle Saltmarsh aged 9 months, with a .22 rifle nearby. A Warmatta man, John O Dwyer, son of Mr and Mrs Ray O Dwyer, injured while discing on a property at Lalaby. The tractor backed, trapping him between the lever and seat, causing back injuries. He was taken to Yarrawonga Hospital and placed in a plaster jacket after assessment.
