Barbara MacBain remembered by Aunty Mabel Uncle Bob and Cousin Edward who note her passing on May 12 1950 and express faith God watched you and took you in His care with lasting memory and love.
Mr J Robertson returns from ten days leave due to his father’s illness and death in Preston. MLA J A Lawson and Mrs Lawson visited Barooga and spoke at a well attended Barooga Hall meeting. Mrs L Pinson is seriously ill and in Mooroopna Hospital. Miss Margaret Haynes awaits transfer to Tungamah State School. Mrs G B Williams holidayed with Mr and Mrs A Dixon of the State Savings Bank, Bendigo. Cobram’s Charles Wilson and Frank Smith visit, hosted by Miss T Steer and Bob Teitz at Koondomov. Visitors report fishing failures with cod.
The Church Army Caravan travels to Cobram from June 16 to 22 and to Strathmerton on June 9, with missions at St Margaret's and St Auden's churches. Captain Malcolm Little leads the van with Captain Alan Polgen, a full blooded Aboriginal evangelist, both trained to bring the church to people and people to church. Daily services will be held morning, afternoon, and evening.

Tungamah Shire Council will discuss at its next meeting the Cobram Citizens' Carnival Committee request for 1952 support in arranging a Vice-Regal visit to Cobram on December 27. Shire secretary A N Isaac acknowledged the request in a letter to secretary A Dewan.
Heavy rain delayed sealing work on Punt Road Cobram where bitumen is being widened from 16ft to 58ft kerb to kerb over 15 chains. Shire engineer Mr M Ryan said priming had started and sealing may finish within a week weather permitting with two multi wheel rollers a grader and water cart in use.
Cup films screened at the Periputerian Hall last night for a Davis Cup themed program. One film offered tips for beginners to improve their play, presented by Sins Engers Ltd.

Leslie Dixon daughter of A A Dixon of the State Savings Bank Cobram married Brian Allen son of Mrs Allen of Caulfield at St Margaret s Church of England on Saturday. Bride wore magnolia brocaded satin with high neck long sleeves and a Juliet cap. Bridesmaid Ruth Short of Bendigo wore turquoise frock. Best man John Bennett. Bride carried frangipani and bridesmaid red roses. Fifty guests attended the reception at the bride's parents home.
Delegates from New South Wales Victoria and South Australia converge at Bright from May 12 to 14 to decide if the league remains an active fighting force and how it will be financed. The agenda includes Snowy power Oaklands coal conservation food production Royal Show exhibits and other regional matters plus local inspections of Bright Kiowa hydro project and the Eildon dam works on the Goulburn River.
