Church Army Caravan Visits Cobram and Surrounds

The Church Army Caravan travels to Cobram from June 16 to 22 and to Strathmerton on June 9, with missions at St Margaret's and St Auden's churches. Captain Malcolm Little leads the van with Captain Alan Polgen, a full blooded Aboriginal evangelist, both trained to bring the church to people and people to church. Daily services will be held morning, afternoon, and evening.

Rain holds up Road Work in Punt Road Cobram

Heavy rain delayed sealing work on Punt Road Cobram where bitumen is being widened from 16ft to 58ft kerb to kerb over 15 chains. Shire engineer Mr M Ryan said priming had started and sealing may finish within a week weather permitting with two multi wheel rollers a grader and water cart in use.

Wedding At Church Of England Saturday

Leslie Dixon daughter of A A Dixon of the State Savings Bank Cobram married Brian Allen son of Mrs Allen of Caulfield at St Margaret s Church of England on Saturday. Bride wore magnolia brocaded satin with high neck long sleeves and a Juliet cap. Bridesmaid Ruth Short of Bendigo wore turquoise frock. Best man John Bennett. Bride carried frangipani and bridesmaid red roses. Fifty guests attended the reception at the bride's parents home.
