Cobram Agricultural Services opens in Station Street Cobram offering a complete service for tractors farm machinery and trucks with plans for a modern service station at the Murray and Queer Streets corner. Proprietor Guy Forster Knight a former ALF major recently discharged after 1954 days service including the Middle East and New Guinea.
The Cobram Agricultural Society will hold its annual meeting on Tuesday night next March 26. All members are urged to attend. Business includes election of office-bearers.
Ald. D A Padman and G Y Lawrence led a tour through Regions 4 and 3 of the Murray Valley Development League from March 11 to 16. They met Mildura and Swan Hill officials, reviewed draft league constitution, finances, and progress, and heard support from Hon T P Byrnes MLC and Lt Col J A Hipworth MLA at a Swan Hill dinner.
At 3.15 pm on Tuesday a Metabo driven by Mrs Ward rolled backwards onto the railway platform. John Edward Harper, aged 72, attempted to intervene and was knocked down, breaking his leg. The car was in reverse gear. Mrs Ward and her two sons escaped uninjured.
