Katamatite residents press for water allocation to support irrigation across the Murray Valley. The drive cites the district as a rich fruit, dairy, and grain area and seeks £840,000 for Yarrawon Weir completion, with £350,000 hoped for this year to progress the scheme.
Frank Ma Jone of Finley was injured in a football match at Finley ground. He was carried off, treated by Dr. Eddy for internal injuries, and later Dr. deLacy joined from Tocumwal. He died on Thursday.

Mrs Shuttleworth, Tocumwal resident, vanished last Thursday week after footprints led to the river edge. Police dragged the river with grappling irons and recovered the body Saturday as sympathy and concern followed Mr Shuttleworth and his family.
The Cobram Sub-branch RS.S.LLA held its second annual reunion despite bad weather with M D O'Dwyer presiding. Honored guests included Mr Saxton, Militia members, and shire representatives. Speeches praised the ALF spirit, noted pension and employment issues, and encouraged Returned Soldiers League membership to strengthen support for veterans.
Last Saturday's results barely shifted the top four positions Cobram, Nathalia, Berrigan and Finley. Nathalia beat Tocumwal and show an outstanding 18 year old forward F Bourke. Cobram defeated Finley while Strathmerton lost to Berrigan amid injuries. Cobram 12 goals Finley 0.
Cobram secured a win against Finley as more players performed satisfactorily and key positions stood out. Finley were missing four regulars, while Cobram had one absent. the match featured improved Cobram movement in the final quarter and solid defense from Radcliffe and Goulding. Finley attacked via Lurick and Killeen, but Cobram’s quick passing and marking by Cassidy, Bourke, and Crozier helped build a late lead. Half time stood Cobram 5 9 to Finley 5 7.
In a marked effort led by Berrigan and Bourke, Finley and Finley teammates dominate key plays. The match featured sharp tackles, smart positioning, and notable goals as Bourke and Finley delivered decisive moments while Greg Bourke set a strong example for teammates. Jack Buxcie also stood out with a strong contribution amid a tight contest.
