Barooga Ball Committee to Hire Berrigan Orchestra

At a Tuesday evening meeting the Hospital ball committee decided to engage the Berrigan orchestra for the ball on 11 September. A travel token was given to Miss Alice Brent at all before her departure for Daylesford. Shearing has begun at Barooga Station. A wooden dwelling at Suousy occupied by Messrs Daley and McLennan was destroyed by fire with occupants escaping in their clothes only. A cartridge explosion drew a crowd as the building, owned by the executors of the late Mr T Morrison, burned.
