Muckatah Football Club conducted a hare shoot on Wednesday yielding over 400 hares. Top shooters were V. Nunan with 25 and J. Ryan with 28.
Friday sale attracted Metro politan buyers and strong local competition as about 100 horses were yarded. Prices ranged with geldings at high ends, a £30 4 year old gelding bought by A Jeffrey, and other horses selling from £8 to £27. Next sale will be advertised with the usual buyer following.
After two years using Scout mail as a church centre Yarrawonga Methodists have a brick church ready for services and social events. The official opening on Saturday July 17 will be performed by Rev T C Heathl Supervisor of Methodist Home Missions. Albert Collier of Jerilderie sued the Berrigan Shire Council in the Small Debts Court for 35 pounds for work on a road contract near Momalong and a 27 pound deposit. The magistrate ruled for the council, awarding 10 shillings for Collier’s expenses and 12 shillings sixpence for travelling fees.
In Tocumwal Court Mr Beavers and magistrates fined each defendant 10 shillings with 8 shillings costs for smoking at Barooga public hall during a dance. John Alexander Grant paid 10s with 8s costs for expectorating on the hall floor. All pleaded guilty. Betty Loughnan’s 64 friends attended a tea at Memorial Hall on 6th inst.. Jace ai Jones was fined £8 with 30s costs or 19 days hard labor for driving into a mob of bullocks at Tocumwal Police Court.
