Cobram Barooga area notices report church gatherings and a September flea market, plus Barooga electricity supply plans and a channel works project tied to a £39 000 unemployment fund grant. A Yarrawonga event featured performers in elaborate costumes from Pierrots to a Sparrow Starver. Prizes were awarded for Best Set Dionne Quintuplets Best Dressed Couple Elizabethan Lady and more. Dr A Gemmell handed cash prizes donated to funds. Contetti Battle also drew crowds.
The ordinary monthly meeting of Berrigan Shire Council discussed electric light and power installation prospects, river works and cost sharing. The engineer reviewed Chanther Street widening feasibility with a £750 preliminary estimate and outlined required works and funding from the general fund.
Numurkah defeated Cobram style with a 96 to 16 victory while FinnLey extended Finley and Strathmerton trailed.
