The headmaster Mr B. W. Hone emphasizes that education extends beyond academics to shaping citizens. He cautions against expensive dinners and lavish gifts for dances, urging parents and teachers to cooperate in building character and social responsibility in boys.
Cobram CWA members met on July 3 amid a warm fire and discussed penny drive fundraisers for Cobram Hospital on July 25 and 26 placed on a map of Australia at Brown and Corke's corner. The group noted upcoming Inver Gordon and Wanghu CWA events and plans a play entry for a Central Murray Group festival.
About 70 percent of taxpayers who calculated their own tax last year were correct, the Commissioner of Taxation announced on Wednesday. The Commissioner noted most taxpayers had prepared their forms, and more are expected to do so this year as income tax forms become available at post offices.
The Central Competition Committee extends the closing date to July 31 due to late distributions. Entries received by June 30 1951 were 158 in 1951 and 126 to date in 1952. Forms are available from municipal offices Toc and the Natural Resources Conservation League Melbourne.
Graeme Bell's renowned Australian Jazz Band played at Cobram last Friday to an enthusiastic crowd. Promoter Jim Muscarella discussed future dates with Bell and hopes the six piece orchestra will headline again. Bell thanked Muscarella for the opportunity and noted the band’s Europe tour and a royal appearance before Princess Elizabeth. The tour continues through Finley Deniliquin Echuca and Kyabram this week.

National Theatre brings Bernard Shaw's St Joan to Cobram on Saturday July 26 as part of CAE touring. The Melbourne group features June Brunel Ree Gillam and Rex Dell with strong local casting and familiar costumes and settings from the Princess Theatre production. Booking at Dutneall's.

They report cutting costs, securing staff, arranging repairs, and welcoming 14 in-patients, several out-patients, four operations, and three births, with the bank satisfied over reduced overdraft.
