Shire of Tungamah to levy rates and charges in 1948
The Shire of Tungamah council, meeting February 16 1948, plans a general rate of 1s 6d in the pound on net annual value in the South West and Southern Ridings, 1s 9d in the pound in Central and North West Ridings, and a Cobram township rate. A sanitary and garbage charge applies for nightsoil removal in Cobram, Katamatite, St James and Tungamah, with occupiers liable. Estimates are on display at the Shire Hall for inspection.
