The death occurred suddenly on 16 December from heart failure of Mr Thomas Mortimer who lived in Sandmount district and pursued farming for many years. He was highly respected in the district. The remains were interred at Numurkah Cemetery.
Mrs Elizabeth Thomson aged longtime resident of Yarroweyah died at her residence Glenluce on January 2. Her husband the late Charles T Thomson preceded her. The funeral was held at Numusk Cemetery. Survived by Alauune Hive Flinquee Rowe Thomas Donald Ernest Savhici Harry and others.
At a district meeting in Alpusy the group urged the Government to set the wild duck season to open on February 15 rather than March. They cited dry waterholes in March and noted local sportsmen planned opening-day shooting despite the weather.
The Cobram Bowling Club hosted its annual Boxing Day tournament with about thirty players, including reps from Berrigan and Numurkah clubs. G Perkin organized secretarial duties while McFarlane ran the presiding duties. The northern Goulburn Valley shares championship was won by P Quiak by one from Lapton, with 7-6 in the final. The ink overoomment, a winners’ cup, and consolation events had mixed outcomes, and the consolation event was canceled due to insufficient teams.
The Cobram Agricultural Society held its New Year carnival at the showgrounds amid unsettled weather. A crowd enjoyed races, the Cobram Gift won by Stan Crilly, and various events from fire brigade contests to Highland dancing, with officers, committees, and local families commended for their efforts. A wedding engagement and local notable deaths were noted, including Dr. C J Trood and Alfred Ewins.
Cy Caldwell who recently had an appendicitis operation at Shepparton is nearly recovered and expects to be about again within a day or two. Mr George Wise of Kerrigan, who spent several months holidaying in Greece, returned on New Year's May.

Adams, while Miss A O Kane won several titles. many finals were decided by walkovers due to the delayed schedule.
