Local notices report Mr P. McFarlane hiring a farm machinery expert to undertake repairs with all work guaranteed. Open wild duck season starts Saturday and Murray Lagoons prospects are strong though birds are fewer than weeks ago. Shooters plan trips to Reedy Lake and Moira Lakes Barmah.
At the Tongemab Shire Council monthly meeting Dr Gemmell urged the secretary to write to the Police Commissioner seeking an extra Cobram constable during the summer. He cited a rising floating population and unruly behavior, noting two men admitted to hospital after a February incident and referencing past events at Katamatite.
Miss Blanche McNamara second daughter of Joe McNamara and the late Mrs McNamara Yarrawonga married Bernard Keenan third son of P Keenan and the late Mrs Keenan Boomabnoomoonal at Sacred Heart Yarrawonga on Thursday 30th. Ceremony conducted by Very Rev Father B Mahony with Nuptial Mass by Rev Father Keenan. The bride wore blue lace with water lily sprays. sister Anne McNamara was bridesmaid in pale pink lace. Best man was Don C Forbes. Afterward families were entertained at the Terminus Hotel.

Aileen Allen daughter of H W Allen Barooga and Patrick Cullen eldest son of Sylvester Cullen Victoria Street Kerang. Bride wore magnolia lace gown with orange blossom and a long train. Bridesmaid Frances Cullen wore white satin. The couple left for honeymoon after reception at Kersti Hotel.
Mr R W Copley of the National Bank of Australia at Tocumwal is moved to Broken Hill. Mr and Mrs J G Grant travel via Cobram toward Melbourne from Mungery NSW. Cobram station master Greaves is transferred to Nyona. G Perkin of the National Bank branch moves to Port Melbourne. Mr and Mrs McIntyre of Tocumwal receive a gift wallet and crystal lamp as he leaves Tocumwal after five years as Tocumwal branch manager and community figure.
The death occurred on Sunday after a short illness. Bertha S McFadyen, aged 63, arrived in Cobram 37 years ago and married the late William McFadyen about two years ago. Until near the end she taught piano and was an ardent worker for Cobram Presbyterian Church.
Cobram Police Court heard charges against Sicols Gattuso for grievous bodily harm and obscene language following a February brawl at Cobram Hotel and Station Street. Dr Kennedy and Constable Beames gave testimony on injuries, with Gattuso and co-accused Wright and O Leary facing trial. final committal set for April in Shepparton Supreme Court.
