The Ram Branch of the Returned Servicemen's League met at Mechanics Hall on Friday night. An animated discussion covered eligibility of servicemen not in combat zones. A motion to broaden Federal Congress membership failed. New member A R McCallum welcomed. locals on the wick list noted. thanks extended to Mrs Le Amson for supper organization.
Diggers Dunstan and Vern Wyatt backed Digger O Dwyer in opposing another Cobram picture theatre. The motion praised his public spirit and was carried unanimously. After the meeting attendees adjourned to the supper room for refreshments and stories.
The committee thanked treasurer Mr Rachel Brunton for his service and transfer to Gee long. President Mr M Scott moved a record of appreciation, noting his football administration knowledge and club loyalty. Members, including Mr Crozier Mr Bales and Mr Radcliffe, voiced regret and wished him well in his new sphere. A farewell presentation will be made before his departure.
