Post office holiday schedule lists Christmas Day closed, Wednesday hours 9 to 10 for general business, closures 1 to 1 30 for mail delivery, then 1 30 to 3 open. Christmas Eve till 10, closed on Christmas and Boxing Days, New Year’s Day observed. Banks closed Saturday 12 to Wednesday 20ish, and New Year’s Day. other days normal operations.

A symphony of notices includes a 1928 waterworks rates deadline and a sheep and cattle sale at Numurkah by J McNamara & Co. New Year Cobram carnival attracts riders from Shepparton, Albury, Echuca and Beechworth plus local entrants. A full program includes pedestrian, athletic and woodchopping events with nominations closing December 24. The death occurred Monday at Shoter Street Moonee Ponds of former Cobram district resident Mrs L A Mannix aged 64. Widely known for kindness and goodwill she had shown some health improvement before the inevitable passing. She leaves a husband and a family of two sons and two daughters.

Watson 47 thrilled the innings while Cleave 27 contributed a strong display. Mathieson held four catches and four wickets, with his fielding praised. Watson executed two sharp run outs as Yarrawonga posted a low score aided by bowling from Watson, Hirst, and Downs.
