The Cobram Progress Association discussed forming a town band with public support and instruments available. Members debated extending building regulations to Cobram parish and county areas, and called for direct telephone lines near Cobram, plus mail delivery and a culvert to ease western town flooding.
The grand final between Cobram A and Besrii was played at Strathmerton on Saturday August 19. Besrii won 20 to 10 after a hard fought match. Cobram played valiantly and the club congratulates Besrii on their win and sportsmanship. Mr J Reynoldson umpired satisfactorily and is thanked for his services this season.
At the inaugural business mens dinner in Benalla Mr HR Crivelli spoke for the NE district of the S E C wave. He warned against overemphasizing propaganda against Britain and noted German and Italian financial strain. He cited a refugee case where a girl and her parents faced expenses to leave Germany and had belongings seized.
