Mr. Harry Tuck of Tocumwal disposed of his stock and st oon agency business to Mr. W. M. Betts and Mr. J. W. Ashcroft of Kerang. Betts has been his longtime accountant.
The well known horsewoman Mrs W Collier won two events at Nerlanders races last week. Rhinegold captured the Maiden Plate while Sir Divine won the Mutt bidgee Welter Handicap.
The Cobram Cobras informed the Murray League secretary last week they cannot field a team and will forfeit to Berrigan. After a poor turnout at Finley the previous Saturday enthusiasm waned, and both Cobram and Baroogs failed to assemble an eighteen.
Neighboring towns seek space in the Courier and must mail ads on Mondays as no direct Melbourne Cobram mail exists on Wednesdays. Ads received by 10.00 pm are lodged to guarantee insertion in the desired issue. Ross Bros., Proprietors.
On Saturday Cobram's weekend run to Mt Buffalo drew many riders and pleasant weather despite snowmelt. Sunday brought a loud drone through Cobram as nine machines from the Shepparton Motorcycle Club rode to Yarra Weir, giving locals a new idea of the club sound.

Optician H Bolton will visit Cobram for eye care on Saturday and Monday at the Cobram Hotel. Finley Show entries for September 9 close on September 2. Presentations to Mire Jackson noted as church and guild activities prior to her departure.
The Cobram club will donate two trophies for a 1s Holes Handicap stroke play event next Sunday for men and associates. Results list top scores for Men's 9 and 18 holes, Ladies 15 holes, and notes a Berrigan golfer setting a long drive record by starting with a fifth shot after four OB drives, drawing comments from spectators.
The will of Edmund Byass dated January 20 1928 leaves real estate in Grose Vale and personal property to his 17 year old nephew Leslie Moor, son of Mrs Steer, a Cobrem State School pupil now at South Melbourne Technical School. Mr James Rees dies at Tatura last Tuesday.
Cobram Golf Club staged its annual tournament attracting players from Finley to Yarrawonga and Geelong in fine weather. L A Kennedy presided with Gilseman as secretary as catering and links were praised. Impressive scores emerged in Canadian foursomes and singles events with Miss M Strang Tocamwal winning the ladies event for the fourth time.
The Muckatah Footballers Ball faced rain but drew many attendees from Cobram Mechanics and neighboring clubs. Decorations featured Murray League colors with red bows, greenery, and streamers. Staged by St. Gervasoni's Orchestra, the event offered elaborate supper arrangements and interlude entertainment by Miss Loss.
