The Muckatah Football Club hare shoot last week saw a strong turnout with 206 hares bagged and sold to an onspot exporter. The top gun was Mr R. McIntyre with 23 hares.
The district reports a contractor guarding new concrete footpaths to keep pedestrians from walking on it. A footprint was found in one area and the council asked police to cooperate in stopping offenders and catching them. If caught, the footprint could help identify the owner of the wagon and recover damages.
Robert Ferguson was fined £1 with 2/1/10/11 costs and three days in jail for stealing 2/ from Consante Hughes room, a member of the Police football team visiting Numurkah. Fifteen boys joined the Numurkah town Band committee, enrolling as members, with first practice led by Mr J Hickey. The band plans a scheme allowing boys to buy instruments on easy terms, with parent cooperation sought.
At a special meeting in Berrigan the Progress Association endorsed Messrs W Alexander G P Cruikshank and A E McPherson as suitable B riding candidates for the forthcoming Shire elections. The group, noting their familiarity and reputation, expects them to be strong representatives.

On Tuesday afternoon at Mrs H T Johansen’s residence over thirty ladies attended a fundraiser to furnish the new Golf Club House. Prizes donated by Mrs Nellie Francis of Melbourne were won by Mrs L Grant for best Alpha Beta score, Miss Gemmell won a consolation prize, Mrs J G Lewan for best Bridge score, Mrs G Barnett and Mrs A Gemmell competed for highest aces, and Mrs H Roe drew the lucky number.
Rainfall from Saturday to Monday totaled 96 points at the post office, easing feed shortages for stock owners. Light rain continued Monday afternoon, with heavier rain in the evening. The timely fall should spur feed growth in coming weeks, aiding fesmers and graziers and improving overall prospects for an average season.

Namarkah Shire Council held over the salary restoration request for secretary Mr A Stringer and engineer Mr W C Shaw after depression period cuts. They may appoint a health inspector alone, with retrospective pay restored from the application date. Current total salaries £950. officers had offered to reduce further with a subordinate. Councillors urged fair restoration as neighboring shires pay more.
Messrs H W Tuckana Company sold 1898 acres of rich grazing and agricultural land at Tocumwal fifteen miles west of Tocumwal from the North Tupall estate to L T and R J Allen. A second North Tupall block of 568 acres sold to Atkinson Bros of Leniston and Hatfield Finley. John McNamara and Co Ply Ltd sold Juverna 23 45 acres in Alexandra district at 4 pounds per acre to George Hay of Deniliquin.
The motion to send a letter of thanks to Mr Mason for surveying the new area was moved by White and Gemmell. A detailed list of stewards followed, covering Draughts, Thoroughbreds, Trotting and Carriage Horses, Hunters, Hackneys, Hunting Contests, Cattle, Sheep, Dogs, Farm Produce, Wool, and Poultry, with chief stewards and assistants named for each category.
Sporting notes describe the forthcoming first round of a championship at the Uubl links for the Black and Wyte 1H phy. It recalls last week’s 64 candera meet where the Berry team defeated in the final 2-1 with Mrs Murray Withers beating Mrs Gorman. players named include Miss IV Roberts, Mrs A Withers, Mrs S Creed, Miss E Reynoldson, and Mrs Murray Withers.
Sergeant Herbert praised the League team for their skill after the charity match while noting the Police could not claim a fair win. Inspector Salmon echoed the sentiment and praised the standard of play, complimenting Creu spe for a fine leaps display and urging fair interpretation by umpires.
The ceremony united Miss Deak and Mr Malcolm Lelie in a Victorian style wedding at Bersigumr Church with a white ivory gown, orange blooms, and cascading sleeves. Family, bridesmaids, and groomsmen attended as the couple departed for their honeymoon after a reception at Memorial Hall.
