The forthcoming Ball to be held in the Mechanics Hall Newarkah on Wednesday August 19 promises to eclipse previous efforts. Wheeler's orchestra will provide music with a splendid supper, comfort and enjoyment for patrons. Prices are double ticket 6 shillings and single lady 2 shillings 6 pence.
Dr Barrett acts as locum for Dr Coombs who recently underwent an operation. Last week the creek reached a very high level and fears of a flood were raised. Rainfall is expected to raise water levels again. Travelers on the Ford's Corner to Tungamah road saw torrents pouring down table drains and parts of the road submerged. Stewards will be appointed to keep crowds off the track and the start and finish near the railway crossing may shift 100 yards.
