The Ba rooge Parish Hall annual meeting on Thursday last approved a satisfactory balance sheet tied to Christmas Fall. Officers appointed included A. E. Breat tall as secretary and I. Stenger as treasurer. A September sports meeting and concert were planned to aid hall funds. Appreciation was shown for monetary and wheat donations and for fete stallholders. The notion of electric lighting for the hall was considered if sufficient other electrical use supported it.
Ceremen nee Mr L A D O Connor postmaster at Cobram for eleven years receives notice of transfer to Queenscliffe. Mr and Mrs O Connor will be missed in golfing and other circles. Mr Ray Burwood, president of the Berrigan B S A branch, received a valuable suitcase as a wedding present at the branch’s last meeting. Death occurred suddenly at Leeton of Sergeant H N Ferris aged 37, late of Leston, Berrigan and Albury, while on duty. Survived by widow and six children. son Bart Ferris is in the Victorian police.
Mr Timmothy, a tractor expert for H. V. M Kay Massey Harris, recounts a lightning encounter while driving from Inglis Bros to The Rock. He awoke hours later soaked, memory gone, and with the car out of action. After storms between Calesira and Walla Walla his nerves failed and he later sought treatment in Melbourne.

The Cobram Fire Brigade annual ball will be held on Wednesday April seventh with Tocamwal Orchestra engaged and a set supper provided. Double tickets cost 5 shillings. Anne Plumridge of Victoria and Douglas Cameron married at the Catholic Apostolic Church Melbourne on March 14.
