Deputation Seeks Daily Cobram to Strathmerton Train

Representatives from Cobram and district groups asked Railways District Superintendent N. Martin to restore a daily motor train between Cobram and Strathmerton. Dr M D O Dwyer chaired the meeting with speakers from Progress Association, Agricultural Society, Graziers, Irrigators, traders and various local bodies. Martin agreed to present the case to the Railway Commissioners and notify the decision when made.

Check on bus passengers sparks railway interest

In a morning meeting with District Superintendent Railways Mr N Martin, Mr J C suggested possible transfer of Cobram Tocumwal passengers on the night train to Namur and onward to Bropeistas. Fairley said such action could help arrange another bus if needed and would investigate to carry it out.
