A listing of upcoming Cobb town gatherings includes the Mackatab football club meeting, Cobram Fire Brigade annual ball, Cobra Mechan tea, and Mechanic Hall day service events plus the public annual meeting.
A meeting of ladies interested in the Cobram Fire Brigade Ball on the 27th inst. will be held at the fire station at 3 p.m. on Friday next. Mr H Bolton of Fenn and Bolton opticians will visit Cobram on Saturday and Monday and be seen at Cobram Hotel. The Cobram Mechanics Institute annual meeting will be held at 8 p.m. on Tuesday 19th April. Welcome rain began Saturday evening, continuing to Sunday morning with 74 points recorded at the Range. Further showers on Monday bring total to 40 points, beneficial to farmers and graziers.
Firstielass Constable Beames arrived in Cobram on Saturday and began duties. Constable Proctor, assistant to Senior-Constable Allen, departed for Melbourne on Monday.
In Yarrawonga last Wednesday a judgment creditor, N. C. Callander, sought to attach moneys held by W. E. Cassidy for the executor of the Mire M. H. O'Dea estate. After expert testimony the Bench ruled there was no debt owing by Cassidy and dismissed the order nisi for attachment.
