Cobram Football Club Holds Annual Meeting

The Cobram Football Club met at the Mechanical Institute with president H Scott presiding. The secretary A W Edwards reported a full car hire claim, a credit balance of £16 15s, and £32 in player accident costs, as gates fell. Reforms were decided and officers appointed to handle small duties, with renewed affiliation to the Goulburn Valley Football Association.

Desertes Association Meeting Sets New Affiliations

The first meeting of desertes to the G V F A was held at Numur kal on Friday night. It was decided to include Shepputon Imperials and Tozumwal into the Association. Clubs affi lished with the association include Nathalit Numurkab Muckatsh Sratimerton Wangbou Tocumwal Sheppatou Imperials and Cobram. The question of divisions to conductes in remains to be decided later. Tall na have sppit for sfiliation with GV Second Eighteens Association.

Social at Evans State School as Leahy couple depart

On the 28th a social at Evans State School honored Mr and Mrs D Leahy who soon leave Yarraweyah. Guests included Mr E Maidment and Mr H Thomson plus Miss S Leahy. Speeches praised Leahy’s service on the school committee and in district affairs. Receivers of gifts expressed thanks as community singing and supper followed.

Yarroweyah Cricket Club closes season with community event

Yarroweyah Cricket Club ended its season on a Tuesday evening at Yarroweyah Hill as inclement weather kept attendance lower than hoped. Mr G. O'Brien praised the players and captain for a successful season with six wins. Captain Mr M. Collie thanked experienced players W. McLellan and H. Thomson for guidance. speeches by H. Thowrop and C. Ward followed, with community dancing and entertainment by Lellan, Thomson, and Miss Smith. A vote of thanks acknowledged the ladies who supplied supper and afternoon tea at matches.

Harvest services and annual meeting at Scots' Church Cobram

Harvest thanksgiving at Scots' Church Cobram with Rev. W H Patterson preaching twice to large congregations. Special anthems by the choir and Mrs Fizid at evening service. Monday night annual meeting reported improved finances with a £140 profit from October gift sale and Sunday School credit of £418. Church balance sheet shows £70 credit, overdraft reduced to £400. Ladies' Guild to handle church camming. Votes of thanks to Board of Management and Rev Patterson. Miss H Jackson and Mr D Clarke provided specials with Mrs McFaydes at the organ. Supper followed.

Golf Pennant Formed by Goulburn Valley association

At Namurkil a Goulburn Valley Golf Association meeting elected officers led by President Moss and formed a pennant competition. District teams from Kyabram Tatura Mooroopna Shepparton Nathalia Nathalis Nawbrkah and others will contest in two divisions starting May 1 to May 3, with six hole play, five players per team and clubs paying entry fees.

Railway Returns At Cobram Station For March

The Cobram railway station reports March totals of £1910 from official returns.
