Cloncurry Shifs and Mt Isa Water Rates Debate
Council continues discussion on Mt Isa water rates and electricity charges. The by law minimum water rate is 4 pounds 10 shillings with a 15 shilling discount, while electricity accounts remain at last year’s level with a 10 percent discount for early payment. Budget changes include a 3 pounds 10 shillings weekly subsidy to syndicates from September, with council approval required for syndicate funding. The meeting ends as members await the 1 o'clock train to Mount Isa.
