Valuation Appeal Court Hears 28 Cases In Cloncurry

Twenty eight valuation appeals were heard by the Valuation Appeal Court before J D McLean. W O Little, acting for the council, presented the case while Mr F S Hope and E Barry represented appellants. The court discussed grouping allotments for evidence and evaluated numerous properties in Ramsay and Daintree Streets, with several adjustments to valuations reflecting mining slump and pastoral stabilisation. The session adjourned for lunch after hearing arguments from Mr Katter and others, with final rulings tightening the binding valuations for the business area.
