Fresh fruit and vegetable deliveries aim for Western Queensland
A letter from A. J. Smith M L A to the Shire Clerk urges Council support for distributing shipments of fresh fruit and vegetables to Cloncurry and Mount Isa. Tests show last rail carriage of produce arrived in 100 percent condition, with fortnightly consignments planned as Western areas and children’s needs are prioritized. The Premier noted the positive test results and the government plans to expand refrigerated vans and regular deliveries.
