Land for Occupation Licences Auctioned in Boanda and Numil Parks
In the Land Commissioner's Court at Vioncurry on Monday July 1 two blocks were auctioned for occupation licences. Boanda Park, upset £282, and Numil Downs, upset £183, attracted bids. Boands Park went to Mr M Glive at £100, and Numil Downs to Mr G B Bacon at £500. The blocks, originally owned by Mr T Ball, were forfeited to the Crown after Lands Department actions.

Obituary for Charters Towers Resident Jack Cassells
The town mourns Jack Cassells aged about 50 who died at General Hospital after a period of illness. His son Pilot Cassells of the RAAF was serving overseas, a factor some linked to his death.
