A correspondence from State Treasurer Syd. V. C. Gair to Mr. A. J. Norman Smith records a loan increase for the Cloncurry Shire Council to £4,202 16s 8d for recreation reserve improvements. It also notes Main Roads schemes valued at £60,091 plus £17,000 in Commonwealth aid allocations, with a construction unit active in Cloncurry-Normanton area and on the Cloncurry Duchess Road deviation at Slaty Creek, and plans to continue release of road works in 1080/51 in the Carpentaria Electorate.
