Petrol Supplies for Visiting Motorists Warned
Queensland motorists wintering in the state ask if petrol can be obtained to return home after rationing begins. The Royal Automobile Club of Queensland reports the matter to Commonwealth Controller of Liquid Fuels and awaits policy from the Liquid Fuel Board in Melbourne. A special provision is anticipated to allow tourists sufficient petrol to reach their home towns before rationing applies. A warning is issued to owners of homemade gas producer units due to engine timing and belt cleansing requirements.
