The Westminster Synod and the Ritualist Future
A critical review of a pamphlet predicting a future church settlement in 1882. The piece mocks the Ritualist forecast of universal Catholic triumph, condemns the author’s synod proposal, and argues for constitutional church government and faith grounded in reason. It warns against inflamed zeal and urges steadfast Catholic principled reform.
The False View of Extremes in Religion and Doctrine
A critical examination of extreme religious views, arguing that belief in Baptismal Regeneration and the Real Presence is genuine Catholic doctrine. The piece condemns mistaking reverent practice for extremism and notes tensions in Church of England debates stirred by Mr. Bennett and related judgments. It cites The Times and The Standard, contending high church advocates truly hold Catholic truth while others deny it. The article stresses that the Real Presence, not party lines, constitutes the core issue and condemns shallow displays of faith.

Extreme Sacramentalists and true Catholic zeal
The passage defends Sacramentalists as faithful and zealous in proclaiming Catholic truth, arguing that those labeled extreme are often the most faithful. It contends that lukewarmness and compromise are sins in matters of God, while true devotion is honorable.
