It faults Lord Eliot’s mixed stance on Church and State, cites Gladstonian influence, and warns the Union risks destroying churchly integrity by aligning with Radicals and revolutionists.
A critical opinion piece decries Nonconformist pressure to access church burial grounds and services. It argues the Church should maintain its own properties and rites, condemns coerced use of graveyards, and questions legal trends toward shared or nationalized burial facilities.
