The device offers 140 000 pounds of force and can open two vehicles per charge, with $20 000 raised locally. Firefighters tested it at Fire Hall No 2 on Cloud Lake Road amid recruitment efforts.
Terrace Bay will open a government funded job and career action centre for more than 330 workers affected by AV Terrace Bay mill closures. The $280,000 project funds workshops resume writing and job postings to help workers transition within or beyond the skilled trades, with services running through June 16, 2025.
