Wilderness Discovery Centre a Northland accessibility jewel
The Barrier-free Wilderness Discovery Centre near Shebandowan Lake in Northwestern Ontario is a 70 year old accessible get away now operated as a not for profit. It features five cabins a two storey lodge and accessible kitchens baths and docks with a lift and ramp system. The site rebuilt since 2017 via volunteers and grants and serves Camp Quality George Jeffrey Children’s Centre Community Living Thunder Bay and veterans groups among others.
