Stan Madge died Friday May 9 2025 at home in Ontario after 31 years as a Thunder Bay Police officer. He is survived by family including Lea his wife and Keith Megan Harri and grandchildren. A private interment is planned. Donations to St Andrew s Presbyterian Church are welcomed. Donald Richard Tilson 90 of Dorion passed May 9 2025 at Nipigon Hospital. Cremation completed full obituary to follow condolences at Northwest Funeral Alternative site.

Herschel Segal founder of Le Chateau and co founder of DavidsTea died on May 6 in Montreal at an unspecified age. Segal retired from DavidsTea board in 2021. his wife Jane Silverstone Segal remains chair and daughter Sarah Segal is CEO. Segal built Le Chateau into a mall staple in the 1980s and 90s before foreign retailers arrived. Le Chateau later filed for creditor protection in 2020 and stores were liquidated. DavidsTea notes his vision and commitment to accessibility and community. DavidsTea operates online and in 20 company owned stores in Canada, with products sold in grocers, pharmacies, and convenience stores in Canada and the United States.
