Floods force evacuations across southern Quebec towns
Rain and warm weekend weather caused rivers to swell in Quebec, prompting road closures and school cancellations. Drummondville ordered evacuations for flood zones as the St Francois river surged to near five times its normal speed. Beauceville and Nicolet reported ice jams and flooded facilities, while Yamaska and Weedon prepared for possible evacuations and residents moved valuables and stocked essentials.
