Thunder Bay debates truck route to protect roads and schools
City councillors heard passionate pleas from Nikos Mantis of Pinetree Catering and NO MAD about diverting cross country transport trucks off Dawson Road and Arthur Street West onto Highway 11 17. Residents and officials weighed safety, traffic for 548 homes and 60 businesses around Arthur Street, and potential rerouting of about 300 logging trucks from Resolute. The bylaw decision is slated for June 23 after Monday information briefing.
