Remarkable Crested Caracara Spotted in Thunder Bay District
A crested caracara, rare for Ontario, was seen June 27 near Townline Road in Oliver Paipoonge and again June 30 near Nipigon. Local birders photographed the bird, noting its out of range status and historic Ontario sightings. Only four prior Ontario records exist, with the latest near Leamington in 2025.
