City manager shoots down cost cutting plan for payroll plus
Shane Judge told Thunder Bay council he would merge back office functions from Police Synergy North Tel and boards into a municipal services corporation to cut overhead by ten percent and charge access fees. City manager John Collin dismissed the idea as requiring a mountain of work and cautioned about independent boards and regulatory constraints. He suggested slow steps like standardizing software may occur, but rejected pursuing a full municipal services corporation now due to other priorities.
