Natalie and Clem Bigras of Hanmer Ontario won a record setting 6.43 million in the December Thunder Bay 50/50 draw for the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation. The couple plans to fund an emergency department overhaul, noting care access for rural residents improved by the hospital’s initiatives. The prize, the largest 50/50 hospital award in Canada, continues to exceed milestones as the January draw approaches with 75 000 early prizes. Tickets remain available online and at a local store with a January 30 deadline.
