CIBC donates 100000 to Confederation College for CICE program
The Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce gives 100000 to Confederation College to support its Community Integration through Cooperative Education program. The gift includes 75000 for student awards creating ten 2500 bursaries yearly for three years and 25000 for an experiential learning fund to aid equipment, fees and travel for co op placements. Rose Hankie calls the donation transformative and Per Humle notes CIBC aims to remove barriers for underserved students.

Water safe evacuees return home Kashechewan case
The Chronicle Journal reports Kashechewan First Nation evacuees in Thunder Bay are returning home after the city hosted about 200 people since mid-December when a water treatment plant failed. Repairs completed and boil advisory lifted, 108 remained with two flights used and one final flight planned. Some homes remain uninhabitable due to frozen pipes. 20 people to stay while damage is fixed. Fire Rescue Chief Dave Paxton praised partners and safety focus.

Police identify injured driver in Highway 1117 crash near Thunder Bay
Provincial police say the badly injured man was the driver of the striking transport truck that rear ended a disabled truck on Highway 1117 at Eldorado Beach Road. The disabled truck's driver and passenger were uninjured. The other driver's injuries are not life threatening. Investigation continues.
