Canoeist Paddles Great Loop Route Across U S and Canada
Peter Frank, 23, from Escanaba Michigan, travels the Great Loop in a 1982 Sawyer Loon decked canoe. He began June in Escanaba and aims to cover about 9,656 kilometers through the Atlantic Gulf waterways, Great Lakes, Canadian canals, and inland rivers. He endures cold gear, solar charging, and spare power banks while chronicling experiences on his blog and via magazines. His journey follows a near twenty five percent inland river section, with unplanned wayfinding along the Delaware and Raritan Canal en route to New York City and Lake Ontario.
