Guilty plea in Thunder Bay art fraud case
Gary Lamont of Thunder Bay pleaded guilty to making false artwork attributed to Norval Morrisseau and defrauding the public of more than 5000. Eight people were charged in a scheme police call the biggest art fraud in world history with over 1000 paintings seized and up to 6000 believed created. A sentencing hearing for Lamont is set for December 14.

Parade of Lights Draws Thousands in Thunder Bay
The 24th Parade of Lights hosted by the Thunder Bay Police Association lit the streets on Saturday evening with about 150 vehicles decked in holiday and Christmas decor. Organizers expected over $30,000 as funds were still being tallied, split among Autism Ontario Thunder Bay chapter, Special Olympics Thunder Bay, George Jeffrey Children’s Foundation, and Thunder Bay Therapeutic Riding Association.
