Charges laid after woman hails ride share in Thunder Bay
Police charged two men after a woman using an unlicensed ride share was held against her will robbed and sexually assaulted. The incident began when she arranged a ride via group chat last Thursday near 11 p.m. In the vehicle a suspect threatened her with a weapon and forced a transfer of funds and valuables. The woman reported the attack to Thunder Bay Police Service. One suspect, 23, faces robbery with a firearm forcible confinement threats disguise with intent and sexual assault with a weapon. The other, 21, is charged with robbery with a firearm forcible confinement and possession of property obtained by crime. Both remain in custody awaiting court. The police caution the public about unlicensed ride shares.
