Missing Rainy River man triggers murder charge
A missing person probe into Curtis Medicine of Rainy River First Nation led Fort Frances Ontario Provincial Police to locate him deceased at a Fifth Street West home. Joseph Desrosiers of Fort Frances faces second degree murder, indignity to a dead body, and breach of release order, remanded as the investigation continues.

Highway twinning plan open house set for Thursday
Shaniah and Dorion area residents can review a Ministry of Transportation proposal to four lane 7.6 kilometres of Highway 11 17 between Pearl Lake and Ouimet. The plan adds eastbound lanes south of the current road, with the existing two lanes becoming westbound.
