The Queen received Redschid Pacha the Porte's ambassador who delivered a magnificent brilliant necklace from the Sultan. After the audience, Her Majesty departed Buckingham Palace for Windsor Castle shortly after four.
The Common Council awarded the freedom of the city to Thomas Clarkson in a gold box valued at a hundred guineas. They praised his role in ending enslaved Africans’ oppression and separating Britain’s mercantile power from mercy. The council also approved a bust of Clarkson for the hall.
