The Mayor was asked to investigate, Rev R J Douglas sought 8500 regrant to the Hospital and was reappointed to the Hospital Board. Fire department kitchen and utensils were ordered, a sidewalk bill paid, a tax refund prepared for overvalued lots, and an appeal to B C E R Co Vancouver for street light outages and faster system completion was sent.
The Free Press reports that Bardis telephone exchange is obsolete as all lines now connect through the Chilliwack exchange. Subscribers are urged to adapt to the new centralized system and expect improved service.
Real Estate Sales notes seventy five feet on Princess avenue sold at 830 per foot to Mr Thorne in Vancouver from vendor David Stevenson of Mountain View. Four lots in Henderson sub division sold to local residents. Mrs Elizabeth Russell, an old Valley resident, died last Saturday in Rosedale at age seventy one. Her remains buried in Oddfellow cemetery Monday with Rev Mrs Mckay officiating.
Allison driving a two horse team was jolted when two automobiles scared his horses near the city. The wagon struck a telephone pole, the harness and wagon damaged, and Allison dislocated his ankle but reset it and freed the team. He will be sore for days. no serious injuries reported.
