Fort St John skater eyes Nagano 1998 Olympic pace
Linda Johnson Blair, Fort St John speed skater, has two 500 m and one 1000 m Olympic qualifying times for Nagano 1998. She needs one more 500 m and one more 1000 m standard, with a December raceoff to decide the final spots. Clap skates adoption widely changes technique, and Johnson Blair reports faster, smoother strides but acknowledges competition remains keen.
