Chetwynd Cantor Begins Beetle Infested Tree Haul in BC Forests

Chetwynd Cantor starts harvesting and hauling mountain pine beetle infested trees in the Hasler Creek and surrounding river areas in fall 2004. Low temperatures and end of beetle flights reduce infestation risk this year, with potential haul restrictions if temperatures rise above 18 C. Leaders say focus remains on infested stands, with milling within hours to days. Contact Cantor Woodlands Manager Tony Fazekas or Ministry official Danny Way for details.
