A diary style note describes a large chipmunk colony near Moberly Lake, their feeding habits and hibernation, interactions with a merlin hawk and dogs, and mixed bird activity including blue jays nuthatches sparrows and juncos. An immature bald eagle was spotted perched on a house roof.
