Dam construction advances at Site 1 Hydro dam
Work at Hudson Hope on the run of the river Site 1 Hydro dam continues with two dams planned at the canyon site. The north intake section will use reinforced concrete at 540 feet long and 165 feet high, while the south spillway side will be earth filled. Four turbines of 175 megawatts each will power the project, tied to the WAC Bennett reservoir.

Fire hazard ranges from low to moderate province wide with Penticton Kelowna and Lillooet at high. Twenty two fires still burning and 18 new fires reported this week.
