Local politicians urged Peace River residents to attend the B C Electoral Boundary Commission hearing in Fort St John on October 1. Coal bed gas project discussed in Hudson's Hope

Hudson's Hope Council met with Hudson's Hope Gas on August 22 to review the next phase of the coalbed gas project. Mayor Lenore Hardwood said talks with First Nations are ongoing since most activities occur on crown land. Approximately 25 wells may be drilled on crown land south of Canyon Drive across from Beryl Prairie Road, with a compressor station planned to collect gas. The company aims to minimize land impact by using existing roads and placing pipelines within road allowances. Council will continue meetings as the project advances.
